Can you edit all levels and subjects?

​

YES. I've worked with students and professionals in many countries on

assignments, theses, dissertations, journal submissions, reports, fellowship applications, and conference papers. Subjects have included music, human resources, IT, psychology, architecture, oceanography, philosophy, geography, education, construction, and sociology.

Are you familiar with the style guidelines I have to follow?

​

I have experience working with APA, Chicago, and the style guides of a number of universities and academic publications.  I might not have worked with your style guide before, but I know how to follow one.

I can promise that your work will meet style requirements.

English is not my first language.

Can you help me make my English sound more natural?

 

YES. I can help writers of any background. I'm an English language professional who grew up in the US and then moved to Aotearoa New Zealand,

where I spent over 17 years teaching ESOL to international students.

I'm "fluent" in both US/UK English and can help you use any chosen form of English consistently. I'm also well-versed in a wide range of non-native “Englishes” used in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America, which helps me to understand what my international clients are trying to say.

Can you write my essay/do my assignment for me?

​

NO. As an academic editor, I am able to correct errors of grammar, usage, spelling, and punctuation, and to offer advice to improve the clarity of your ideas and the consistency of your text as a whole.

I can also tidy up tables, figures, citations and reference lists.

How do you charge?

​

I base my quotes on two types of samples, NOT on word count.

Every writer is different. Every text is different.

Doing a sample gives me a chance to edit your work, show you how I can improve it, and estimate how long it will take to do the job.

I don't have much time before I have to submit. Can you still help?

​

Contact me and we can work together to determine a realistic time frame. 

 I have pulled all-nighters for clients before. For overseas clients, my being in NZ can give us extra hours and as much as an extra day to play with.
